Wow... i think i had the most enjoyable weekend for a while. For some reason I feel really happy and mellow.
Sat - went to Ikea with Mum and Sister.... it was time for my sister to get a new desk for her room... there alot of discussion with my mum when we go ikea cos she tends to pick really old fashioned stuff where i want modern stuff...
We are still debating if we should have carpet in the front room or go for laminate flooring... i personally want laminate but she wants carpets so i think she is gonna win that one.
Anyway going ikea to shop takes ages... but managed to come out with a few items... what a gentleman i am! i made my sister push the trolley to the car... being my sister... she loves stupid stuff like that!
After i dropped them home, I then rushed out to have dinner with Thach... went to eat at Frankies and Benny's down Kingston at the Redunda. It was really nice... I had Mussels for starters which were slightly overcooked but did taste nice.... for maincourse i had spagetti with meat balls... it was really hard to take a pictures cos the other table was looking at us lol....
Over spent on my budget slightly my meal came up to £15...
On Sunday went to Central to have a late lunch with a friend... decided to go to busaba, it was the first time sitting outside and eating... i don't think this concept can really work in london... just feel polluted... very different compared to eating out doors in paris. but saying that it was quite nice to eat outside for a change...
I had the usual Sen Chan Patthai, myself, Son and Minh used to go busaba all the time when were at uni.... they used to eat it so quick didn't know how they did it cos the portions are quite large.
Afterwards.. in line with my budgeting instead of going to the cinema and spending loads of money I decided to go to Fopps couldn't decide on the which hollywood movie to watch so i decided to go for world cinema.
Anyway so what is District 13.... it's a french movie made in 2004 which the critics were raving about but never got the chance to see it.
District 13 is one of the best action movies i have seen for a while. In Brief this movie is like ong bak meets HK action movie, meets parkour, meets paris coucil estate.
it has Martial arts (which was very entertaining), Parkour (freerunning) and on top that a decent storyline.
To be honest i was surprised the french can produce a movie like this becuase the french are not really know for HK style action movies...
Anyway if you are into world cinema this is a must watch.... oh and the english dubbed is really bad...
Spoke to glenys online tonight... i don't actually know what enlgish city she is in these days so given up asking but it was nice to chat to her cos haven't spoken for ages... so might meet up soon...
Anyway... Enjoy your week.... On Wed i will be going to a Preview of Fast Food nation so i'll review that on Wed...
Friday... it was the first social gathering with my fellow work mates from the IT systems Team, We went to eat at this Oriental Fusion Restaurant called See Cafe. Food was nasty and over priced.
Each person at the table manages a System so the Lunch almost didn't happen cos one of the major systems went down. Tried my best to socialise but again it was quite hard, but they seem to be accepting me now... so it is really nice... I was the first External candidate into the department so most had known each other for a while.
This evening didn't really have any plans was just going to head down to Ikea to buy a storage unit to finish off my room but that never happened :p
By 6 I was bored at home so decided to meet up with a friend. Had to pick her up from Feltham station, took a while to get there cos of traffic but when i got there she was no where to be seen... I thought maybe she was mad cos i was 10min late... so i tried to call but her phone was goign to voicemail so i waited there for 10 min thinking wtf going on?
Anyway I got bored waiting so asked someone around how many entrances are there and it turns out there are two DOH!!!!!!!!
so had to go round but eventually met.
Headed to central for food... went to La Porchetta Pollo down Old compton street which Melvin took myself and Jen to a few weeks back. It was nice and good value for money. Bill came up to £22 for 2 people...
Afterwards took a walk to Green park... it's so scary when it's pitch black took a nice picture of the Queens yard
Finallyy Congrats to Gemma who got the job at gaming giants SEGA.... i'm sure she will do very well....
I would say Yes! i can get free games of her now :p but i can't even name one decent game from the sega in recent times.
This morning Jen text me as i was going to work to check out page 23 of the metro as Susie was in it. So at the station I picked up a copy and was amazed to see a half page picture of her... She had won best fashion blog.... I'm really glad she won and people admire her. I remember her livejournal blog before she started writing her current one. There was sometimes freaky and scary and I was quite worried.
Actually everytime i meet her she tends to look drunk for some reason... last time i saw her I had just finished eating a Koba with Monica, Thach and Jess, she looked ever so tipsy.
Anyway congrats to Susie... better seeing her in the paper winning something than being in it for any other reason.
(type susiebubble into google to find her page) Metro article
Anyway today I had a really depressing day. I just didn't feel like working... Compiling stats are boring and crap i really had to force myself to do anything. Tried to wake myself up by taking a walk but it was raining so ended up sitting at my desk on msn....
Tonight I was meant to go to eat with Thanh, Chi, Yen and some other person but I just really felt to tired... normally i don't refuse... i think it was cos of all that jogging yesterday... talking of jogging my back is killing me... now that it's the end of the month.... i might go and get a back massage... ahahahahahahah
I'll leave you this geeky youtube clip from the movie Grandma's boy not sure if its coming out in the UK but the trailer looks good.... something perhaps i would of done many years ago...
Today I had a wonderful lunch with Anna... Went to Nando on Baker street for some peri peri chicken.... and yes i know it's chicken again! i don't know why but when i'm hungry i get the urge for chicken... esp Frangos!
It was a really early lunch which i wasn't used to but it was good!!! I was a little annoyed cos the table next to us was talking really loud.
Anyway this afternoon i re-arranged the furniture in the office. We got rid of one desk and put the rest next to each other. so now i face a data quality officer rather than a white wall... this morning i spoke to my manager on how depressing having a desk on the wall was. 2 hours later she got the ok for us to move things about. No porters to help us... we had to move it ourselves. and these desk are not cheap ones.. they are solid wood ones so really heavy! managed to crush my baby finger as well... it is still hurting now.
I was dusty, hot and sweaty... i didn't realised the time but i had a meeting in 5 min so i had to dust myself down and ran to the place. I did not pay attention at the meeting... all i was thinking was to just go back and tidy my desk up cos i hadn't even finished putting my workstation back together.
Anyway i feel much more happy now... cool!
Anyway I have signed up for the British 10K Run on the 1st of July. So June walking and Jully running.... So this evening I started training by taking a jog around my area.
My route started where i live (Latimer/North Kensington) down to Holland Park then back... I prob only ran for 2.5km then kinda walked but it was very nice just walking around my area... normally i don't really see much of it cos i normally drive or take the tube (which is 1min walk away and is overground and not a tube).
Read in the paper today bout the man who cut his penis off at Zizzi on the Strand (in london)... This is a restaurant that i go to often... i can't believe something as crazy as this happened.
"The London Paper" had a good decription of what happened.
"This guy charged into the kitchen, got a knife and started waving it about. Everyone was screaming as he jumped on a table, dropped his trousers and poppeed his penis out. Then he cut it off. I couldn't believe it. There was bloog everywhere. "
Now i should be laughing at this cos he could be mentally ill but that was the talk of the office :p
Spent all day cleaning my room... it is almost done... after 1.5 years it's kinda looking like a nice room.... got my remote control mood lighting working as well.
Miss Athena Chan has started blogging again... under a new blog.... as far as i'm aware she has had 4 incarnations of blogs... this one is slightly different from her ones before... this one seems to be in english for once.
You may wonder sometimes why i blog ? well Professor Bryan Cloyd whose daughter died in the Virginia School Massacre said something that I really agree with. "Go out of your way to make good memories.. at some point these memories may be all you have left. "
I write my memories here. Maybe it's time you started a blog?
Firstly would like to thank everyone who has donated so far... in 2 days I've almost made my target of £100, surprising I only know half the people on the donation list the other half are random people from bloggers who have been spreading the word. Would like to thank them for that.
As far as i'm concerned i am only looking for peeps to donate £2 (more if you can) cos at the end of the day anything is better than nothing. It would be really nice to break my target though! So friends who have not donated yet... £2 will do!
Anyway to my blog... This is gonna be a slow weekend for me as it is the end of the month and i have run out of money and now digging into my savings.
Fri evening went to New Malden to eat Korean at You Me it was really nice... portions are much larger than central london and better value for money... If you didn't know New Malden is the Korean town of south east england
After that went to Ha! Ha! on the Kingston Riverside to have a few drinks... i only drank one cos i was driving... but it was really nice first time goign to Ha Ha
Sat went out with Mum... had to take her to go Staples down the A40 so she could buy a few items then it was down to Hammersmith... she wanted to buy this sat nav she saw for cheap on the back of the London Lite. It doesn't look as good as a tom tom but i guess for old people they won't know the difference... my parents plan to use it when they go travelling in the summer...
Last year for some reason my parents stopped be boring gits and actually started going to places in england... so i guess this is a good investment so they can't get lost when going to places...
when will my room be tidy... I'm so embarassed to bring anyone over cos it is so messy... and even scared to switch on my webcam... it is just so messy... Let me explain why it is like this. Oct 2005 havd my Ikea desk and shelving unit installed... the shelving unit is not a normal one ( Stolmen unit which anchors to the floor and wall.)
Then in april 2006 everything had to be taken apart again so i could install the flooring... since then after spending £1000 it hasn't really made my room tidy :p i just haven't had times to actually put anything back... so i've been living with boxes around me for a whole year now....
I really need to stop going out on the weekends and perhaps i may actually get things tidy...
Actually i might give it a go now... wish me luck.
As I was having lunch with Monica today, i took this picture. To the left my Present employer.... two the right C*rner. I love being reminded of my failures.
Tonight I'd thought i'd share the beautiful views in Richmond park which i filmed on sunday. (I speeded up the fim abit cos filming at 20mph is boring) I plan to go there hopefully this weekend if it's warm.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Donate I'm doing the walk for life , which is helping people with aids/hiv.... just give £5 if you can't afford anything... every little counts... Asking all the readers here... including you regulars that never post comments but just read!!!! http://www.walkforlife.co.uk/champsak
Do i really look like that Mass killer from Viginia? Today i got a few texts saying that? I used to have his specs and perhaps i have the same eyes but thats about it?
Today had lunch in the park with Chi and Yen it was nice... they were proper picnicing while i settled for my subway diet...
*if you are subscribing to my protected posts give me a few days to add you cos i gotta do it manually and also protected posts don't show on Xanga subscription emails so you gotta go tot he actually xanga page - Even if i don't know you but you are a regular to my page i will add you*
Nice weather this week. Had Lunch with monica the other day went and sat along the canal side... the weather was perfect for eating outdoors. If you work in the Paddington/Edware Road area give me a buzz and i will have lunch with you. Monica is a health freak her lunch resemble rabbit food, i had a good old 6 inch sub from subway....
Can't wait till tomorrow i'm having a picnic for lunch with the Lovely Yen and Chi... it'll be quite nice seeing them again ain't been the same since the Yo Sushi Voucher Fiasco.
Work has been really quiet this week, but i read something really interesting which i will share in my personal blog on xanga...
Gleny's is back in london, She felt left out that i didn't blog about her... so here she is ... she was ill on the weekend had to go hospital... hope you're ok!
Spoke to Anna (Bananna_20 on Xanga) this evening very interesting conversation... It was very out of the blue that she called me... she never calls me anymore... i swear like many years ago she used to call me every day :p don't think i can ever do that with anyone these days... being on the phone is long... you can waste your whole evening on the phone and have nothing to show for it.
Thanh just showed me a video clip of friday night where i was drinking... man i act so gay when i'm drunk... it was a really good night though. I think video blogging should be banned on nights out... people keep doing that... I always make a fool of myself... if you searched for me on youtube you are bound to see me making a fool of myself... .
Sat... Went shoppping with Jess... she needed work clothes so went to central to see what stuff she could find. Went to selfridges brought some Biotherm items.... i swear it was annoy champ day... firstly at Marlebone she was punching me really hard... like it really hurt :( really heavy handed (note: Thanh managed to get bruises from her the previous day).. then when i went HMV to buy a game she would not stop talking, i couldn't even think... I knew what would make her stop talking ... my vid cam lol.... check it... (it looks much more violent then it was... )
After went shopping again... but didn't really find much.... went dim sum in china town after... it was actually nasty i didn't eat much... actually we didn't really touch the food... after shopping for a bit more... kinda gave up cos the weather was so nice so headed to Hyde Park... loads of peeps...
The sun was making me feel sleepy so i fell asleep... i don't know what Jess did think she was listening to music or something.
After went past primark wanted to go in but didn't cos there was a queue outside, i don't see whats so good about it... theres no frenzy in the Primark stores in Hammersmith.
After that.. Went to Kingston and chilled along the kingston riverside... it was really busy with loads of people drinking but a great atmosphere...
about 10pm Jess treated me (cheers mate) to Frango, I call it the fake nando's cos its exactly the same... but i quite like it... the fries are really nice... (taste like the burger king ones) .
I've started posting more personal blogs on my xanga... so if you wanna read them i gotta authorise you....
Fri I was speaking to Anisha look what she sent via picture msg.... wow i even get cussed in electronic form...
Friday night I met up with the INPS lot.... it was almost like a reunions... it was past and present peeps ... most had gone to done better things... not like me who's gone to the NHS.
Went to Zizzi in Victoria to eat... food was nasty i think.... the wine was making me tipsy and no doubt i was embarassing myself....
After dinner alot of people left us cos they were either tired from work or lived far etc... the rest inc myself went do a bar... there we downed a few shots... i remember losing my balance a few times and peeps kept disappearing to the toilets.........
It was a really good night... enjoyed it so much...
Today i had a really busy day for the first time... normally i never have nothing to do... kinda stressed me out... I literally was only in the office for a total of 30min today.
C*rner got back to me. They told me they can't talk to me about a position until my manager write them a letter stating that I am exploring a career with them and "the exploration by means of my initiation."
I really cant do that, if manager knew i was doing this they wouldn't be happy at all. problem is they want to offer a more senior role for me... but i don't think it would be in my interest to tell my manager that i wanna leave.
Tien says the role they have offered me is like a £32k a year position (which i would be very happy with) but how the hell am i gonna do this... i just don't think it is worth the risk cos i may not even get the job.
So i guess i can't go with them... it would not have been a problem if i worked somewhere else. but because the trust is a direct business partner they have to do it this way.
What have i got myself into!
I got till fri to really decide... but i think i won't be able to get this letter... kinda has made me feel really down
Anyway this Weekend is gonna be so nice... its gonna be really hot... i think i'm gonna go richmond park... i think i need it...
i had a really nice easter weekend... coming back to work was so crap... I had so much todo (for once)... time went so quick...
Tonight i went to a special screening of Alpha Dog (Released 20th April 2007) This is movie with some big names like Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone and Justin Timberlake... but also some unknowns as well.
Not a really big fan of US gang culture type movies... normally stay away from these... the first half of the movie it wasn't really that interesting... it only got decent near the end.
Alpha dog is based on a true story... and as i was saying, it's a slow movie but by the end you are like... DAM!
I'm mixed in deciding if this is a good movie or if it isn't... I would say yeah check this movie out if you have nothing else to watch... but prob give it 3 out of 5
forgot to mentions something wierd that happened to me yesterday... while waiting outside the changing rooms at Zara (regent street) i saw this guy heavily built in a yellow shirt... he really stood out...
on the way back to kingston i saw the same guy again in his car at the roundabout outside richmond park... what are the chance of that happening!
Tried making moko moko today... the packing says just add 1 egg and 2 min in the microwave... (i assume it said that cos its was all in jap) well anyway tried it and look!!!!! it doesn't even look like the picture... it looked really nasty and it tasted nasty as well :(
wow saw kung fu hustle for the first time this weekend... what a really good movie... loved the fight sequences...
Bank Holiday saw another really nice warm day.... Drove down to kingston to meet up with Jessi was funny i entered the Seven kings car park with the intention to park up and shop but i changed my mind and had to pay £1 to leave the car park... i didn't even park it in a bay :p
Got to covent garden and started shopping... well Jessi started shopping went into quite a few shops eventually ending up in regent street... by this time both was very hungry... i felt really weak as i had not ate all day.... Couldn't decided on what to eat so look at a few places so then decided ont he simple solutions which was to eat at Nando's and for some strange reason we started running there.
After food went to the Mall to sit for a while.... theres some video footage from today that i wanna put up but i'm being told not to... maybe cos its embarrassing :p
My dad sent me out on a search for a family camcorder .... he didn't want anything expensive nor something really cheap so i looked round... I decided the JVC HDD Camcorder... it's a 20 gig Hard Disk Camcorder...
I decided on this cos i don't really like MiniDV cos its a pain to transfer to PC... HDD cams are ideal....
Brought it and decided to play with it for a bit ... i was very impressed with the quality settings... in DVD (fine mode) you can get 4 hours recording time, normal DVD quality mode 7 hours and TV quality 9 hours...
really impressed with it actually ... no doubt i will be using it more than my dad...
Later in the Evening headed to Thach's place for a quick game of Virtua Tennis on the PS3... graphics are so clear... makes me wanna buy a ps3 now...
After that we headed to Park Royal to meet up with Gemma and Anna ... went to munch at Chiquito... i decided to have the chilli beef burrito... with the weak stomach that i have... it wasn't a good idea.... Anyway after that we went to watch Blades of Glory...
Now I was a bit reluctant to watch this movie cos i thought... how can ice skating be funny... but it is actually a funny movie... i would def recommend it anyone to see ... at the end of the movie i notice Chan had joined us... didn't even see her come in...
Below Capoeira on the Brighton seafront (from friday)
Today went to Brighton with two of my fobbish friends and it seemed almost all of London was there as well...
Now I really like the culture of Brighton... Brighton seems very European in the sense that there are plenty of Restaurants, bars and cafes to socialise in.... this is what we are lacking in London.
what wonderful weather it was down south... spent 2 hours on the beach feel asleep... only woke up cos my t-shirt was so warm... felt like ripping it off but i didn't wanna embarrass myself...
Went to the pier brought an ice cream... I couldn't believe it... i got mugged for my ice cream! worst thing was it was a seagull that mugged me ... the seagull nose dived towards my ice cream and managed to take it... i didnt even see it coming cos i was chatting... all my friend and bystanders started laughing really heavily.. i was quite upset only took 2 licks of it as well...
Later on in the evening we went to a Restaurant called Palm Court... on the pier itself... it's meant to be an upmarket fish and chip place... far from it... the food was rubbish... I ordered the fish and chips and it tasted nasty... i've had better fish and chips from the local chippie... I also couldn't believe how long i had to wait for my food... for fried food i would of thought it would come really quick...
My impression of an upmarket fish and chip place would be good quality fish with a tasty batter (kinda like that chippie shop down marylebone) anyway paying £8 for fish and chip was a rip off... everyone go to Harry Ramsden's... way better.
To my surprise i had a phone interview with C*erner today for a consultant job... i was successful so i got invited to an interview... wish me luck.... It is one of the largest Health IT companies in the world floating on the US stockmarket etc... I really can't see how i can mess up cos i have alot of exp in the Health IT field... but who knows...
You may ask why do i really want to leave my present job... well it is easy and stuff but i don't see my career will progress staying here... and this job you'd be stupid to refuse... so i hope i do get this job.
Any way tonight i went to an ex work mates leaving drinks... he's off to work for RBS good luck to him...
right .... firstly i can be so stupid sometimes... built the bike last night but never tested it... so this morning i got ready to ride my bike to work... i decided to ride it on my street first to make sure it was ok.... first off the brakes were so loud i think somethings wrong with them and the gears won't change properly... anyway i still decided to ride it.... big mistake... as the journey is mostly up hill it was hard... i felt like i was gonna get cramp... and when i stopped at the traffic lights i could hardly start again.
Today i had the bi-monthly project board meeting... this is where the Directors, Clinicians etc come together to justify if money is being well spent.. all i can say they aren't to happy... it feels weird that i've got this job actually... everyone in that room today was alot older than me... i felt like a kid with grown ups around me... I was so shy... but i had to speak a few times each time i sounded like a retard... i really feel i'm in the wrong job... this job is for a person is who has had like 10 years exp.
Anyway got a little bored half way through i started taking pictures secretly...
Anyway i decided to have lunch with Monica... went Nando's yum yum... had the salad.... the place was full of school kids from Marylebone School... i could tell cos Anna used to go there (hmmm anna in school uniform.... anyway) i think they are so spoilt... when i went school we wasn't allow out to eat... but they get to go nandos fo lunch... how the hell do they afford it?
Afterwork i went to a special preview screening of Sunshine at the Kingston Odeon... (which is released tomorrow..) i've had a few invites now but have never gone cos the movies had been shit but i read up about this movie and was intrested cos the person who wrote the screenplay was Alex Garland (also wrote the beach) The movie was not bad i guess.... not really my cup of tea...
Brought myself a bike this evening... £150 down to £80.... but after buying a helmet, lights, lock etc it came up to £170.
I plan to cycle to work now... this will save me £23 a week.... it will take me just under 2 months to break even after that I will be saving me money traveling to work...
and yes that is the actual bike i brought. It was a pain assembling it as well... took all night... haven't even tested it yet.....
I still plan to take tube on the odd days when I'm not going to paddington.
First thing… check out my updated Photo Gallery… it hasn’t been updated for many years so I thought I might as well update it.
4 day week this week… I was so bored at lunch today… as it was a nice day I decided to window shop the whole of Egdware road. As I was walking I was wondering how long I will last going on lunch on my own. Considering my old job Lunch was the best part of the day and I was never short of people to hang around with.
My diet started today, recently I have been pigging out at lunch eating Mcdonalds, Burger King, Kfc etc etc. I am noticing the weight gained so a diet was in need…
Today for lunch at had a very healthy Seafood Risotto, the portion was tiny… a few hours later I couldn’t take it anymore so I went out again to get my self a pasty… so tomorrow I will try again and behave myself and eat healthy.
Getting really sick of sashimi now yesterday I had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I still haven’t finished the £40 worth I’ve had since Sat.
When i got home today i was sooo hungry again, Ate the rest of the sashimi and some chicken skewers.... then my sister called me and said we are eating out tonight... so much for my diet ...
The family went to eat a this pub in Greenford it was nice... i wasn't really that bothered cos i was sooo full already just went cos the family wanted to go...
