Been mostly out of the office this week traveling around central london... good way to catch up on sight seeing etc.
Each place i had to visit was very close to each other so i walked most of the time which made me very tired.
Met up for Lunch with Arup the other day he works in the office next to me and for the company i wanted to work for :(. It was nice catching up... its wierd cos after leaving my old job i never expected to meet up with alot of my old workmates again... but working at inps is like being part of a family.
Been doing the Special K diet. It's actually kinda working... so well happy need to keep it up for a little longer.... geez i sound gay!
[BT Tower]
Friday night went for a drink with a friend that i haven't seen for ages... it was nice catching up etc...
Watched Citizen Dog tonight.... I've very surprised to see that thai movies have come along way... thai movies have become popularly internationally by carving a nice niche for itself.
Citizen dog is prob the best excuted movie i've seen for a while. It follows a love story of 2 people in a slightly fantasy world. Everything seems to have hidden meaning.
Silver Prize for Most Groundbreaking Film and Bronze Prize for Best Asian Film at the 2006 Fantasia Festival.
Sixth on the Top 10 Best Films of 2005 by Time magazine film critic Richard Corliss. [2]
Wed went to see the Simpsons. I've been waiting to see this since last year... the wait was over, so was it worth the wait?... well i was quite disappointed because it was hyped so my expectations were alot more.
I guess the movie was perfectly executed... typical simpson style so it isn't a rubbish movie.
The animation is really good in the movie making use of cell shading. the gags were quite funny... but alot of the gags were shown in the trailers so weren't as funny when i watched it again.
you know.... As one great rapper said "mo money mo problem" it's true.... its seem that no matter how much i earn it's not enough. With that in mind i'm going to stay in next month and make more home cooked dinners.
So anyway the weekend! I had a real happy weekend.... Sat went to Sukh's Pre Wedding dinner.
It was so nice to see all my mates again...
Anyway the dinner was held and i nice place called bombay dreams... food was good and the entertainment brill.
Anyway after 12 it turned into a club.... thats when the party started... anyway the video blog is below.
I've got free tickets to see Transformers the movie on monday but couldn't resist going to see it today as they were doing special previews this weekend.
I made the 00:05 showing... I was shocked to see a packed cinema.
Anyway the movie,
All i can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!
I Loved it.... It's transformers adapted to modern day... so proper fans my be disappointed to see that some of the characters look different in the movie, but that doesn't bother me and i love it.
How they mixed comedy into it and pull it off i will never know. Peter Cullen who was the original voice actor Optimus Prime for the 1980's cartoon version retains his role in the movie making it really authentic.
Today apparently we had 2 months worth of rain in one day. It actually did feel like it. Midday it was very dark like it was the evening and raining very heavy.
Pictures below are from outside my old work place in Battersea South London
past few days i have been really busy... so busy i'm getting headaches...
the other day the system i manage was getting a DOS attack. it was being bombarded with like 70 messages per min and was overloading the server...
Luckily it was coming from a host we knew so it was a matter of getting E Mis to sort out the issue. but in between we tried to block the ip but didn't work cos the way the firewall is set up... in the end it got sorted... now there's a backlog of 200,000 msg it needs to process so that will take the whole weekend to catch up.... then today the interface went down didn't get it working till 4pm....
anyway i was so out of it today... went into tesco to buy a sandwich... was starying at the shelf for ages thinking why did i come in here again.... i just couldn't figure out why i was just standing in front of a shelf... then it hit me... the reason why i stopped was there were no sandwiches on the shelf... they had been moved the entire section....
Firstly I've blocked my blog from anyone accessing it over N3 ... that to prevent my current employers seeing my blog... but the knock on effect is that others may not view it as well... sorry dudes!
So finally got my new front tyres... decided on Goodyear Excellence, they are brill.... they grip the road better.... quieter and save fuel (not sure how).
Finally applied for the Server support engineer at my work place nervous cos i haven't told my line manager... quite worried now, scared it's gonna backfire on me...
My diet is going ok... the reaction i get when i tell peeps i'm on a diet is "why? you aint fat?"
It's true my BMI is normal so clinically i'm not overweight... but for some reason i'm getting a belly... so really need to sort that... I am really tempted to join a gym by past experience has told me it isn't a good idea cos i will never go.
Job satisfaction is one of the key things which is very important to me. So i'm always on the look out for new jobs etc... at my work place there's a job opening for a Server Support Engineer... but i can't really apply as i'm missing one qualification... MSCE in Windows 2003 ... but I know so much about Win 2003 already... do i waste money taking the exam hmmmmmm
Was reading the metro this morning and saw that S*eg*a are looking for IT people so gonna do my CV this weekend and apply. Reading the job description seems very entry level something that i saw myself doing 2 years ago... but I would be happy to go back to basics to work for a multi-national company.
Problem with myself I really think about my future.... with my current job i don't see myself progressing that quickly.... Only other career path i can go into now is full blown Project management, which could happen as I will be doing my Prince2 qualification soon.
Watch this space.
Today... I sarted my diet.... picture below was my lunch.... I aim to lose 5kg in the next 4 week... The oat meal cakes had a Low GI.... but that didn't stop me thinking how good a Zinger Tower burger would taste...
Just down the road Anna shared what she was having.... Looks healthy but i'll be to lazy to even make a dish like that for work.
5.15 H&C Line Train.... where is everyone? this is rush hour and no one was on the train! freaky!
Sunday was a very nice day so i decided to investigate why my left tyre had a super slow puncture... took the wheel off (which i had problems doing) and discovered that theres a nail embedded into the tyre! not a small one but ones you use in DIY!
Not to happy with that cos it means i gotta spend money fixing that.
Yet i find another problem the back wheels seem fused onto the car.... even my friends dad couldn't take the wheel off... very annoying... so i left it but i dread the day i will have to replace it on my own.
[Die flies die!]
First time i tried GBK over the weekend! Was prob the best burger i've ever had... it was really nice... I tried the Garlic mayo burger.... A big no no... the garlic was so strong (i guess cos the garlic mayo was actually fresh)... even after brushing my teeth many times i could still smell it...
Monday morning i walked into my weekly meeting very self conscious that there was still a hint of garlic in my breath.... so let this be a lesson for you all... if you have a meeting... don't have a garlic mayo burger.
With all this Carbon footprint talk i decided to see how much my actual carbon footprint total would be.
It worked out to be 8.41 tonnes per annum which is below the UK average... It would have been alot lower if i didn't fly.
I feel that i'm trying to do my part, One of the reasons I brought a 1.4 engine car was to save petrol which in turn will have a smaller carbon footprint then a larger size engine.
I also take the train to work, reduced the no. of servers I have from 3 to 1.
Recently had a eco toilet fitted which uses less water per flush and also got a new boilers installed.
I think it's a good start to try and do little things like this as every little helps... but the message from today's event is not to go totally green but to make the effort.
The UK has a problem where people don't think about the energy they use. Alot of countries energy saving and recycling is a way of life. My trip to Barcelona alot of establishments had infrared sensors which switched on lights when people were around and off when people weren't. All Taxi's in Thailand use natural gas. Escalators stop when no ones on them in Japan.
I think first thing London needs to do is increase parking for bicycles and mopeds... more environmentally friendly then cars this would help alot of people get away from cars.. I wanna get a moped myself!
Last night went to watch Die Hard 4.0 ... i felt like i was watching 24 .... it's what i imagined a 24 the movie to be like if there was one.... It's a good action packed movies even though i thought the story was a bit flaky... but it's an ok movie....
What did the Scots ever do to them.... Scots are one of the nicest people in the world!
Anyway earlier in the week there was those car bombs which was place next to tiger tiger and near Thai Sq in central london.
All this give muslims a bad name.... all my Muslim friend think this is wrong... i'd say a small percentage are this extreme.
It's a shame a few people can create such a bad image.
This is taken from the latest Blog entry from my mate Sarfaraz which i guess shows the funnier but yet serious side of being a muslim in today's UK.
Well, those Islamic terrorist lunatics have decided to strike again. And just like after 7/7 I know I will be the subject of awkward looks in the coming days. I can't criticise anyone for this as I too will be suspicious of other people. I just wish I could tell everyone that despite the skin colour and the sinister sounding name that I am a peace loving heathen alcoholic...oh well, time to have a shave and get the skin bleaching treatment into action!
Wow it has been a long time since I have written anything on my blog.
So where do I start.
Last week I booked a last minute trip to sunny Barcelona. If you haven’t been there yet it’s a must. The weather was really nice, food was great… seafood was really cheap…
The hotel I stayed in had a nice view of the city… so nice I was drinking and chilling on the balcony every night.
